JARON Ministries International and Hume Lake Christian Camps invites you to come spend 4 days with us at beautiful Hume Lake. You'll be inspired, challenged, and refreshed!

July 5-8, Monday - Thursday

Take your public speaking skills or counseling methods from good to great. Our unique interactive courses will provide expert advice and practical insights from Dr. Jim Cecy and Pastor Gene Beck as well as sincere, godly evaluation from your peers.

Make your week as intensive as you like. Optional afternoon sessions give you the freedom to get out and enjoy the majestic beauty of Kings Canyon and the Sequoia National Forest. Spend your time in the classroom or out in creation—regardless, we're confident that you'll see God at work.

Choose one of the two available courses: "Honing my Public Speaking Skills" by Dr. Jim Cecy or "Becoming a More Skilled Helper" by Pastor Gene Beck. Get the most out of either course by completing the pre-conference assignment which will receive a loving, but thorough evaluation during the conference.

Courses

Honing My Public Speaking Skills
Teaching the Word of God, whether before large crowds or small groups, is a great privilege and responsibility (James 3:1). It also takes the right tools that need to be honed and sharpened in these changing times. Although the message of the Gospel doesn’t change, our methods must. These practical workshops are designed to help you develop even better skills as a uniquely gifted Bible teacher and a growing public speaker.

Becoming a More Skilled Helper
Our goal in counseling is to help people live as God designed them to live. To do so we must be constantly refining our ability to lovingly, carefully and accurately use the Word of God to confront, exhort and restore people. Participants in this course will be instructed by Pastor Gene Beck, an experienced biblical counselor with over 35 years experience. He will guide you on how to become an even more skilled helper.

Speakers

Dr. Jim Cecy
Jim is the Senior Pastor-Teacher at Campus Bible Church of Fresno, CA. and the founder and president of JARON Ministries International. He is a graduate of San Jose State (B.A. in Speech-Communication), Talbot Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity in Bible Exposition) and Western Seminary (Doctor of Ministry). Jim has over 35 years experience as a local church pastor-teacher and an extensive speaking and teaching ministry in the U.S. and abroad. Through his frequent speaking engagements at Hume Lake he has become a close friend of the ministry.

Pastor Gene Beck
Gene is the Executive Director of JARON Ministries International and Pastor of Care Ministries at Campus Bible Church of Fresno, CA. He is a graduate of Western Baptist College (B.S. in Pastoral Theology) and Baptist Bible Seminary (Master of Divinity). Gene has been in pastoral ministry since 1974. In addition to an extended overseas ministries, he is a regular speaker at Awana Leadership Conferences, especially teaching in the area of pastoral theology and counseling.

The purpose of meetings, seminars and activities at Hume Lake Christian Camps is to educate and inspire attendees with Biblical teaching and instruction. We also desire to follow government guidelines which require attendance at meetings for organized camps and educational organizations. Your participation at these meetings is necessary for us to accomplish these goals. Please plan to attend all meetings.

Hume Lake Christian Camps operates outfitting and guiding services and recreational events in the Sequoia National Forest under a special use permit with the United States Forest Service, and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color or national origin.
