Overview
JWI Presents is an annual conference for college age youth and young adults between 18 and 30 years old. This years theme is "Unite". We're bringing together like minded individuals and groups from all over the west coast (and beyond) for a long weekend of amazing activities, our most popular speakers, fantastic music, and more coffee and food than you'll know what to do with. With activities like Broom Hockey, Paintball, the Boxsled Blitz, El Diablo, and the Screamer you can go non-stop all weekend. Or, if you'd rather simply hang out with friends and meet some new people we've got plenty of couch space in the O.K. Chalet and the Hume'n'Beans coffee shop. So come reconnect with your friends and rekindle your relationship with God in a place free of distractions and surrounded by His creation.

Darin McWatters In 1972, Darin McWatters was sent to prison by a military court for a crime he didn't commit. Then, he promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, he survives as a soldier of fortune and youth ministries manager at Hume Lake Christian Camps. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire Darin McWatters.

Jeff LilleyContact via: Email • Facebook
Jeff Lilley Jeff Lilley currently serves as Head Honcho here at Hume Lake. Most likely because of his deep love for God, and because of his passion to see lives transformed. Also because he knows a lot about bugs and trees and stuff and has been here for over two decades. That's twenty years. If you ever have any questions about nature, Hume or God, go talk to Jeff.

2009 Activities
-
Innertube Run
Can you say rope tow?!?
Innertube Run With 5 snowblowers working overtime the tube run is always ready to rock, and with ample rope tows, you'll never have to hoof it up the hill again.
-
Boxsled Blitz
Cardboard, ductape, snow... duh
Boxsled Blitz Bring plenty of ductape and cardboard because you'll be building and racing your very own boxsled down the tube run.
Here's a hint: Waxed cardboard is the best. Don't worry, we supply the helmets.
-
Broom Hockey
Don't be a puck hog
Broom Hockey We provide the knee pads, helmets and brooms. You provide the sheer grit and determination it takes to go running across a frozen arena knowing full well that there's only three things that can stop you. The ice, the wall or another body.
I'm pretty sure that Billy Joel's hit 'Running on Ice' was inspired by Broom Hockey.
-
Paintball
5 games, 2 fields, 25 per team
Paintball You know all those James Bond movies where they have epic gun fights in the snow? That's what this is like... only without the snowmobiles and explosions.
-
Screamer
42' drop. Take the first step.
Screamer Whether you step off the edge on your own or you let the guide drop you off backwards this is a thrill you don't want to miss. On Belay!
-
Hiking
Ease on down the road
Hiking The snow level will dictate where you can hike and where you can't. The walk to your cabin may be considered a hike, or you may need to head out to the Water Source, Inspiration Point, or Aspen Hollow. Regardless, you should bring some warm clothes, thick socks, water resistant shoes, a friend and a camera.
-
Ice Skating
Toe Pick!
Ice Skating You don't need to know what a triple lutz is in order to enjoy the sensation of gliding around the ice rink thumbing your nose at friction and gravity.
-
Firepits
Spin a yarn and toast a smore
Firepits If you've never had the privilege of sitting around a firepit up in the mountains where you're a mile closer to the stars, then you need to take the time to stop by one of the many firepits sprinkled all over camp.
Even better, grab a coffee and meet up with a friend at a firepit to get away from the crowd.
-
Worship
Make a joyful noise
Worship While this may not be a 'traditional' activity, when you're in a throng praising the Creator with one voice it can be more of a thrill than stepping off the screamer, and it can be more of a wake up call than a paintball shot to the chest.
-
Hume 'N Beans
The best coffee shop for miles
Hume 'N Beans Check out the art on the wall, catch up with an old friend or meet some new ones in our full service coffee shop.
A double shot mocha is the perfect way to warm up after a brisk walk!
-
O.K. Chalet
Rustle up some grub
O.K. Chalet Part western tavern, part ski chalet — you can find all your favorite 'snack shop' fares, a wide range of board and card games, billiards, and our famous mechanical bull, 'El Diablo.'
Quite simply, it's the largest, warmest, most funnest hangout around.
-
Food
3 squares a day, all you can eat
Food You'll be burning a lot of calories dodging snowballs, clinging to your innertube, doubling over with laughter, and hoofing it around camp. Our dedicated full time food service staff will be single mindedly preparing the best possible entrées to replenish your body while tantalizing your taste buds.
Oh yeah, it's all you can eat.
