Elementary Summer Camp: Wagon Train

Wagon Train is a fun, rustic summer camp for kids age 8-11 years old. This Old West experience includes sleeping in a real covered wagons, learning Archery and BB guns, riding canoes and kayaks around the pond and exploring Fort Logan (our three story island fort) . But the fun doesn’t stop there! Camp-wide recreation games like Capture the Flag, the Water Carnival and our awesome night game Stampede will have you talking about camp for years to come. You’ll also sit around a campfire singing worship songs, memorize scripture, watch amazing skits about the Bible performed by the Wagon Train staff and hear each morning and evening the Good News of Jesus and his love for us. I almost forgot to mention: D&G tag, the Flying Fox zipline, Chipmonk rappelling rock, Giant Swing, Trading Post, and the new Tree House Hill. You’ll experience all this and more, like great food, friends and fun.

Come join us this summer!

Registration Forms

Over the last couple of years, the State of California has been working to develop a set of laws and regulations which will govern all organized camps in California. As one of the largest organized camps in the state, Hume has been working closely with the committees responsible for the development of these new policies. Most of the new policies are internal, meaning that Hume will make some changes, but you will not see the changes or be significantly affected by them. However, there are other policies which will directly affect you and your students, and will require action from you, the churches. The following information is meant to give you a clear understanding of the new regulations, how they will affect your students and staff, as well as what you will need to do as a church to be in compliance as you arrive and register for camp.

Summer 2009 Theme

Our Theme for summer 2009 is called “HEY, RUBE!” And it has a lot to do with Clowns and a little to do with Mimes. It will be an unforgettable summer talking through the idea that as Christians we are called to be the “salt of the earth,” and to show love to our neighbors. The question we will be asking this summer is do you truly care about the people in the world? Why is it that many of those who don’t know Christ are serving and loving others more than a lot of Christians? This summer we want to push, challenge, and stir something in you to get you to care about loving people around you and show them Jesus by the way that you live.
