Happy Monday!
My son is home! He is not a prodigal, but I am experiencing some of the same joy of having him come home. Many of you have been praying for my son, Nole, who has been deployed in Iraq with the U.S. Army Rangers. The Rangers are highly trained and highly committed young men (read the Ranger Creed). I am very proud of him, but I am also proud of all the men and women who are serving our country, including many who are still overseas in harm's way.
I never intended this email to be about the Lilley's personal life, however, many of you have been asking about him, or have committed to praying for him. In addition, I believe there is an indescribable peace and joy when one of our children come home. I think I've read somewhere that God feels the same way.
Today at Hume our first Outdoor Education session begins. Already kids are running around the lawn outside my window. They are excited to be here (probably, just because they could get off the bus), but I am thinking that before this week is out, a few of them will make decisions for Christ that will transform their lives. Before this week is out, I believe God will be thrilled because another one of His children has come home.
P.S. Nole is in the back, second from the left.
Kept,
