Happy Monday!

Have you ever seen a flock of sheep in downtown San Francisco? Me neither, at least not until this week when pictures were sent to me from a recent filming project for our high school Ponderosa camp. In preparation for 1,000 campers every week in Ponderosa, our staff develops a theme that will carry throughout the entire summer. It includes our Sunday night opener, and videos throughout the week. We also encourage our speakers to build off of the same theme.

Assorted people dressed as sheep walking around San Francisco has obvious spiritual undertones, right? Clearly our staff must have lost it. The theme for Summer 2005: "We Like Sheep!" This was taken from Isaiah 53:6, "All we like sheep have gone astray." The sheep, under direction from a capable shepherd will perform in a "Broadway" musical, displaying the obvious talents that sheep possess.

Every year I am more amused at the creativity that comes from the Hume staff. I am not sure whether they are highly skilled or if the winters are just too long. This summer we will have the opportunity to minister to over 18,000 students. We appreciate your prayers, and if you get a chance come see one of our Ponderosa Openers. Ewe won't be disappointed.

Kept under the Shepherd's care,
