Happy Monday!
This week we begin our Summer Staff Orientation in preparation for Summer Camp 2005! There have always been clear signs of a change in seasons ranging from fall colors, to the snows of winter, or California's hills turning green with the spring rains. But one of my favorite signs of a new season remains the increasing number of summer staff showing up just before our biggest camping season begins.
Of the 335 summer staff, only about one-third are returning staff, with about 35 Jr. Staff (staff children), and about 115 full-time staff. We have staff coming from Ecuador, New Zealand, Alabama, and Reedley (actually, quite a few from Reedley). I have included a link to the City of Reedley's Public Works Department website, because they have great music on their site! We definitely would appreciate your prayers as summer takes off. And, if any of you have family members or friends that you would like to warn me about, now is the time.
Oh, and by the way, for those of you who asked me to say, "Hi" to the queen while we were in England; she said to say, "Hello." I've attached a photo of what she wore when she came to our hotel room for tea. (Well, ok, we took the picture of a post card through a store window, but I know she would have said, "Hello" had she known we were in town.
Kept,
