Happy Monday!

There are nearly 1,800 campers in camp this week. Yet, this morning when I went out to the lake to take some pictures, there was not a soul around. It was quiet, and very peaceful. The sky over the canyon was just beginning to lighten up, and with it, the mist began rising up off the lake. A few birds were announcing the start of a new day, but otherwise it was quiet and serene.

Then a young man walked out onto the lawn. I wanted to give him his space, so I headed away, but he followed me. As I turned to see why, I recognized him as one of our past staff members from several years ago. He mentioned that he had never seen a Hume sunrise and we got a chance to talk about how God uses the quiet moments to grab our hearts. I asked him how he was doing, and he said, "Not well at all."

I don't usually start my Monday's out by the lake at 5:00 am, but today God woke me up for a divine appointment. I took a picture of one of the Adirondack chairs by the lake (one of the same chairs from last week's pictures). When I left the lake this morning, there was a young man sitting alone in this chair, crying, and calling out to his creator.

In Ponderosa Camp last week 60-80 students came forward on Tuesday night to surrender their life to Christ. This morning one young man stopped by the lake, once again to meet with his Father. It is a good day.

When was the last time you got a quiet moment away?
