Happy Monday!
Contrast! This weekend we had two very different conferences going on in the midst of 1,800 other campers. The first was 30 couples at our Joshua Lodge for the Romance Conferences. They get pampered with individual attention, great teaching, and fantastic food. I realize that might be too many adjectives for most of you, so I've enclosed a couple of pictures of the food just to prove it. (No, these are not scratch and sniff.)
The second conference was our annual Trans-Sierra Trek, where we lead a hike across the entire Sierras in a single day. In this case there is much less pampering, just miles of beautiful, high mountain trails, bordered by incredible views of pristine lakes, gorgeous wildflowers, and one or two mosquitoes. Again, too many adjectives, so a few more pictures.
I know this is two weeks in a row where I have mentioned hiking, but another great story about events on the trail. One of our regular attendees on this hike is a gentleman that has traditionally invited several high school students from a basketball team that he coaches. One of the students came for the second time, and this time, while out on the trail he stopped and asked Jesus Christ into his heart!
No adjectives needed, just so very cool.
