Happy Monday!

California is a long way from Louisiana, but even at Hume hurricane Katrina is having an effect. A family who had been relocated to California fell into the arms of a local church, who stepped in to help the father get a job, and they sent one the children to our ongoing Outdoor Education camp, where he accepted the Lord!

I don’t want to suggest that God sent Katrina just for this one young man.  I believe God’s plans are far bigger.  However, if there had been no hurricane, this young man would not have come to Hume and would not have heard the Gospel, at least not now, not this way.

My brain hurts whenever I try to understand the full magnitude of God’s sovereignty, but I remain content to leave such issues in His hands.  At the same time, I am thrilled to see the amazing way He works, even when I hear only a fraction of what He is doing.  For now one young man from Louisiana found himself at Hume, and while here, found his savior as well.

Oh, and as promised, here is a picture of the Board laughing at your comments!
