Happy Wednesday,

OK.  I have been lax in getting out the week in review.  I took a trip with my family (to Disneyland!), and I weighed out the choices:

  1. Write my weekly email update;
  2. Or, deal with the stack of paper that has built up since I took some days off?

I chose #3, which was to ignore the paperwork and take a few more days off for my wife's birthday.  We went to see Itzhak Perlman (probably the world's best violinist) performing with the Fresno Philharmonic.

Both of these trips were fun for me.  The Disneyland trip had been promised to my son while he was still serving in Iraq (something to look forward to).  The birthday trip had been promised to my wife while she was still serving in the laundry room (again, something to look forward to).

So, I am sorry if there is not much about Hume in this review, but the point is, I have found that even when we must serve others, there are still great rewards for us.  At Disneyland, I was able to consult with my mentor, Mr. Toad, from "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride."  And there is always a bit of smugness that comes with saying, "We went to see Itzhak Perlman performing with the Fresno Philharmonic."

I'll try to do better from now on...
