Happy Tuesday!

I am often asked what we do in the "off-season." We sleep, drink coffee, and listen to old speaker tapes. In reality, there is no off-season. We have camps going on year-round. However, things do slow down, especially compared to our summer peak. Just because there are fewer campers, doesn't mean the work slows down.

Some projects can only be done during this time of the year. Long Meadow Creek, just behind the Gift Shop, has been eroding for many years. (For some of you, the erosion has been going on inside the Gift Shop, but just to your checking account.) The only time we can get into the creek to repair it, is when the lake level is down in the Fall.

This is only one of many projects that our staff races to complete before the first snowfall. Such projects are not as "thrilling" as the stories of decisions for Christ, but they are a necessary part of maintaining Hume Lake Christian Camps. By the way, this project is made possible by a grant from the Fresno Resource Advisory Council. (Sounds like an ad on Public Broadcasting.)

Keeping Busy,
