Happy Monday!
When it comes to chocolate milk, Hume has a corner on the market. You just can't get it anywhere else within hours. Because of the huge demand for such necessary items as chocolate milk, our General Store stocks several flavors. In our stores and snack shops our staff also stocks glass jars labeled with a note "SEND A KID TO CAMP." Many guests (adult and youth) take the change from their purchase and drop it into the jar. The collected funds are then used to provide camperships allowing some to come who might not otherwise have been able to afford camp.
A couple of weeks ago a young camper came through our General Store, (probably trying to find chocolate milk) and received nearly $10 in change. The camper immediately took the change and stuffed it into the "SEND A KID TO CAMP" jar. Staff working the register noticed the amount and said, "Wow! Thank you."
The camper replied "I wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for this jar," and then proceeded to tell how they were able to come to camp on a campership, and how God had transformed their life. What are you doing with your pocket change?
