Happy Monday!
I stepped out of my front door early in the morning, and found this letter lying on the front porch:
Dear Mr. Lilley,
We, on behalf of the Support Services Department, would like to petition you for a name change in our department. Over the last decade there have been many changes in our name, from Accommodations, to Guest Services, from Guest Services to Support Services. We feel that we have finally come up with a name that best represents who we are and what we do. That name is "The Un-stoppable Legion of Doom." The U.L.D., as we like to call it, will not only better reflect what we do, but it will also significantly improve our recruitment for summer staff. People will see this name and sign up immediately.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Regardless of your feelings about the name "The Un-stoppable Legion of Doom," you have to realize that this letter came from a crew that works all night to clean the entire camp, so that when everyone wakes up in the morning the camp is ready for a new day. (When was the last time you cleaned a toilet at 2:00 AM?) Working quietly, selflessly, and largely unnoticed, they still find time to think about improving the Hume ministry!
We are half-way through summer, six incredible weeks! But it took the secretive U.L.D. to remind me of how many great staff we have that make Hume Lake the place that it is.
Kept,

Jeff Lilley

P.S. Negotiations with the U.L.D. should begin soon.
