Happy Monday!
I suppose it goes without saying that if I work for a kids camp that I would like kids. But, I don't. I love kids! Yesterday I was driving back from San Diego and engaged in silent communication with a child in another vehicle. First you catch their eyes, bored with travel. Then you use hand signals and goofy looks, followed by the inevitable smile on both of our faces. I love kids!
Hume is known primarily for our high school and jr. high camps, however, we run programs from zero on up, all the way up to kids, and beyond to even older kids. Jesus was quite clear, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." From toddlers to adolescents, God has a passion for young hearts. I believe He loves kids!
This week I received an anonymous letter from one of our campers. It came in a folded yellow paper with writing on the outside, kid writing:
To: Mr. Lilley
From: Wagon Train
Inside, the note:
"Hume Lake is so fun,"
When I hear the testimony of a young Wagon Train camper who has just received Jesus Christ, I think, "Hume Lake is so fun!"
I love kids!
