Hume Lake Christian Camps - Week In Review

Happy Monday!

I am often asked “When does it slow down at Hume?”

Between midnight and 5:00 a.m. is the smug response. Though the number of campers slow down this time of year, this is also the when the operations staff has time to catch up, repair, and prepare for the coming season.

The picture of the Viking ship to the right actually represents a tale of three seasons: The ship is a remainder of our Viking theme, “Isola,” (summer); and if you notice just behind the dragon’s head, that is a group of Outdoor Education students (fall). Meanwhile, in the foreground is a small tree that has been removed for improvements to our tube run (winter). Winter is coming, and with it much work to prepare for thousands more kids!

The ice went down on the skating rink yesterday, and within a week or two it will be snowing, (we’ll make snow even if the clouds don’t). Our hope is that Hume will once again be the highlight of so many lives, not so much for the recreation, but more importantly, because of the clear presentation of the Gospel, and that happens year-round!

Kept,

Yes, that is Bob Phillips (director-at-large) on the tractor working the tube runs! Send him an email and ask for a ride, or to offer him a shower @ bob2hume@aol.com
