A MESSAGE FROM HUME NEW ENGLAND

Hume New England Christian Camps in Monterey, Massachusetts, was recently blessed in a very tangible way by a group of modern-day heroes. Twelve firefighters (and some of their wives and families) volunteered their precious time and skills to help Hume New England prepare for the summer season. The majority of these firefighters had been sitting in an evening chapel session at Hume Lake during a Firefighter’s Retreat, heard about the work in New England and couldn’t help but get involved.

They got themselves to Massachusetts, and after arriving at camp, quickly went to work. They built walls in the upstairs dining hall, re-did the guest facilities, gutted and sheetrocked the staff/guest housing units, and installed carpet/laid tile in the dining hall. Take a look at what the volunteers themselves had to say about their experiences here on the East Coast campus:

“ArleStaff member Dustin Collins & Volunteersne and I were thrilled to be a part of Hume’s new ministry to the New England area. We see the potential of what Hume does so well, having a great impact for the Kingdom. The site there is beautiful and we can picture a few years down the road when things are in full swing, what a dynamic change the Lord will make to that area.”  -Jim Haney

“God never ceases to amaze me at the blessings he has in store for us. His hand over Hume New England is so obvious. He left no doubt who gets the glory. He picked the location, He picked the personnel, and He took care of every detail imaginable. There’s no doubt He has big plans for this camp. I can’t wait to go back!”  -Jorge Perez

“It is an honor to be a small part of what the Lord is doing through Hume New England. The highlight was the work accomplished; the oneness of the team and the fellowship in Jesus.” -John White

Hume New England Volunteers“It’s a great feeling having a small part in something so big that it could only be God. I look forward, with anticipation, to the impact that Hume New England has on the East Coast. One of the highlights on this trip for me was to be able to meet and work alongside fellow volunteers. I am looking forward to our next visit.”  -Dan Rodriguez

“It was a great time of ministry for LeAnn and I, especially serving together, which is always a blessing! Believe me, we were blessed beyond measure and sensed the Lord poised to use the facility and staff to continue His work in the rich and well-established Christ-centered heritage of Hume Ministries. The Lord willing, we pray to have a continued presence on the New England campus.”  -Bob & LeAnn Mull

From all our staff here at Hume New England Christian Camps to each and every volunteer…thank you, thank you, thank you! You made a significant impact in furthering the Kingdom … to God be the glory!
