HNE - Summer 2016As a child, when I should have been taking a nap, I would steal a book from my bookshelf and read instead. One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish by Theodor Seuss Geisel, also known as Dr. Seuss, was one of my favorite books growing up. One of the last lines of the book reads, “Today is gone. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.” As our summer season is now “gone,” I can truly say it was “fun” and exciting and joyful and hard but there is more work to be done here in New England. However, as each season passes it is important to celebrate what God has done and the following is only a glimpse at what God did this summer.

One mother emailed to share that her son, “Came home from camp on fire for the Lord!!! We thank you and your staff for mentoring our son and leading him into a deeper relationship with the Lord.”

Pastor Kevin White from Abundant Life in Willimantic, Connecticut had this to share. “Last Sunday, we heard testimonies from several of the kids who went to camp. One young man described Hume as ‘life changing.’ Thank you SO MUCH for all of your efforts to help us this year.”

A counselor, Andrea, because of her job was able to share Jesus with a mother in a difficult situation. Andrea worked with her church to send the mother’s son to camp. While at camp, he too accepted Christ.
