Hume-20160615-MR01347_Fotor1 Kings 18:37 says, “Answer me, O Lord, answer me, that this people may know that you, O Lord, are God, and that you have turned their hearts back.”

When the Program team sat down last September to plan the summer theme for 2016, this was chosen as our main verse. We had the honor this summer to watch as the Lord turned the hearts of Meadow Ranch students back to Him. One of the first students I met this summer was an eighth grader named Tiago. As we walked to the Meadow Ranch Chapel Tiago asked me when and where Mass was being held for the week. He had never been to camp before and had grown up sporadically going to a Catholic church. On Tuesday night of camp I noticed that Tiago stood to give his life to Christ for the first time. Later in the week he explained to me that he had a “fresh start” and said “I can’t believe that Jesus would die for me…It means everything.” The night before he left for home, Tiago talked about how excited he was to go back to his family and friends and tell them what Jesus had done for him. To tell them that they could have a “fresh start” as well. There were so many amazing stories this summer of God turning hearts back to Him. My favorite stories however were the ones where God turned hearts TO Him for the first time.
