Jimmy Houston, Americas Favorite Fisherman has been on national television with Jimmy Houston Outdoors on VERSUS(OLN) (will be NBC Sports January 1, 2012), America One; Faith TV; America Media Group; Lone Star Network and National Religious Broadcasters. and Jimmy Houston's Adventures on America One; Faith TV; AMG Network; Lone Star Network and National Religious Broadcasters. His show (JHO) consistently ranked as the #1 outdoors show on ESPN for 20 years and now on VERSUS(OLN) and the other networks Jimmy is well known as the hardest working pro in the country. A deacon at First Southern Baptist Church of Keys, Jimmy speaks at many churches around the country. Jimmy has written five books including "Caught Me a Big'un" which was a #1 selling fishing book. "Hooked for Life" and "The Reel Line" are spiritual and inspirational collections taken from fishing situations. His latest book, "Catch of the Day", is a 365 day daily devotional built around fishing tips, tales, and events. Jimmy's wife of over 40 years, Chris, is one of America's top female bass anglers. Chris won seven Bass-N-Gal Anger of the Year titles, three Bass-N-Gal Classics and fished all 21 Bass-N-Gal Classics. She won numerous Bass-N-Gal tournaments as well as several 2nd and 3rd place finishes and many big bass awards. Chris was named to the Professional Bass Fishing Hall of Fame in 2005, the only woman named to this Bass Fishing Hall of Fame to date. In 2008, she was inducted into the Legends of the Outdoors Hall of Fame.
They have a son, Jamie (Amanda), and daughter, Sherri (Johnny). Both are active in the company's businesses. America's first couple of fishing have two grandsons; Jeremy, working with Jimmy Houston Outdoors television in marketing and and a photographer; and Kyle who will graduate from NSU in 2012. They also have a granddaughter, Jordyn; three great-grandchildren, Kutler, Merrick and Avarie.
