Junior High Summer Camp: Meadow Ranch

Overview

“To the Meadow!!” Meadow Ranch is a phenomenal place for junior high students to get away from the everyday distractions and into the quietness the Meadow has to offer and learn more about who God is. From outdoor activities, energetic recreation, silly skits and suspenseful night games, to exceptional speakers, inspiring dramas and impactful worship, your time at Hume will make you want to come back for more! The relevant programming and passionate staff will help ensure your time in the Meadow will be life changing.

  • Speaker:Chris Nicely

    Chris is the Middle School Pastor at Shepherd of the Hills Church in Porter Ranch, California.  He has been working with students & their parents since 2003 and wouldn’t trade it for the world.  He is supported and spoiled by his beautiful wife, Rebecca, and his little girl, Eden Grace. A random fun fact about Chris- while growing up his nick name was ‘BoBo’ but don’t tell anyone it is our little secret!

    Adam Weatherby is Pastor of Student Ministries at Atascadero Bible Church, he brings over 300 campers to Hume each summer. He holds degress from Bethany College and Liberty Theological Seminary. He brings a fresh perspective of the truth of God’s word as he challenges you to walk according to the scripture.

    Brad is Student Ministries Pastor at Life Center Church in Spokane, Washington, where he also serves as a Teaching Pastor - regularly speaking to the thousands of people who call Life Center their home. He has planted two churches, one on the Pacific Northwest and one in New York City, and has been involved with students for over 15 years. Brad is a unique communicator who blends passion, humor, and authenticity to bring God’s word to life.

  • Speaker:Chris Brown

    Chris Brown is one of the Senior Pastors at North Coast Church in Vista, California, and one of two Teaching Pastors. Along with being on the vision casting team, and providing directional leadership for the church, he also oversees both Student Ministries and the Edge Video Venue. Chris loves bringing the Bible to life with his gifts as a communicator and storyteller, but most evident in his teaching is his passion for sharing a real and authentic journey with Jesus. Chris and his wife Amy have three children, two beautiful daughters, Sayla and Karis, and a son, Barak. They plan as a family to stay involved in teaching, ministries, and fishing for as long as humanly possible.

    Patrick Carmichael is the college pastor at The Bridge Bible Fellowship in Reseda, California Patrick spends most of his time studying the Word of God, teaching it to the college group at his church, and discipling others to be doers of the Word. Though Patrick enjoys mountain biking, surfing, music and reading, it’s his contagious love for God’s Word and desire that all see and value Jesus Christ as infinitely better than anything else in this world that drives him, both on and off stage.

    Ron Merrell has been in ministry for 15 years and is the College & Young Adults Pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Santa Clarita, CA.  He combines his love for students who feel broken or lost with his background in comedy and comedy writing to uncompromisingly communicate the Bible.  He’s married to his best friend, Anna, and has two sons, Braddock and Brody.

No minimum group size required. Price includes meals, lodging, program, highlight DVD, and recreation T-shirt. Extra activities are available at additional cost or deposit. Camper to counselor ratio of 8 to 1 is requested per gender.

Theme

We live in a self-centered culture with an attitude of entitlement. From the decisions we make to the things we say, our lives reflect an abundance of "me." This "me-centered culture" is in opposition to II Corinthians 5:14-15 which says: "For Christ's love compels us, for we are convinced that one died for all therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died for them and was raised again."

This summer we will address the "me-centered culture" of today's youth by challenging students to understand that we were bought with a price by the death of Christ and the life we live belongs to Him. We are called daily to selflessly submit to Christ. We are called to excuse ourselves out of the way so that God gets the glory. This summer we will learn what it means to Excusez-Mwa!?...
